NOTES from Friday 4/26 Sitzprobe

 well done, all!

some general notes first:

I know we were hampered by the absense of the guitar 1, which is the major component of the accompaniment for finding notes and keys!  But you did an admirable job keeping up.  That said, it is imperative that you listen to make sure you're on the same bus as the band, both harmonically and rhythmically.

Now that we have rousing accompaniment, DICTION will be even more crucial.  And I have a couple of specific notes for that.  Remember that, while we all know the story, the audience most likely will not, crowded as it probably will be with parents and grandparents and other family members who don't read this stuff.  Just declaim like you've got one chance to tell someone in the back row where the money's buried.

#1 - Prologue
Mr. B - m. 111 overspeak - make sure you say ZEUS a bit separate from the words before and after it.  It's a crucial plot point.  One child...ZEUS...escaped.
Percy - m. 125 - 7:  Get those notes, please.  See how that phrase fits with the notes that preceed it.

#2 - Strong
    Percy - m. 48 - notes w/ Sally

#4 - Terrible Day
Dr. D - don't swallow the words "flying lessons" and "archery"; it sets up the joke.  Good job emphasizing "eat" in the end speech.

#12 - Lost
    P, G, A - m. 98 - 99 YIKES!!! Harmonies need to be reviewed and locked in here, please.
A @ M. 102 your note to start is the note Percy just came off of.
    A, P, G, - @m. 118 to the end - review harmonies.

#15 - m. 27 - ID the Chimera in the clear - wait until the band stops then say, It's a Chimera.
    m. 71 line in the clear; m. 73 line in the clear
    m. 50 - harmonies need review

That's all I got to this time.  There were other spot that are mentioned in yesterday's notes that hadn't been corrected today.

All that's up to youz guyz.

Have a great weekend; practice every day; get better.

See you MONDAY!
